34th American Cinematheque Awards Honoring Spike Lee

We replaced the standard, award show format of ongoing speeches with a one-on-one interview with Spike Lee and Jodie Foster.  This conversation was interwoven int between a series of alternate one-on-one, organic discussions between each of his film’s costumers, editors, DPs and producers.

Refreshing the flailing brand and format, repositioned them for a farther-reaching audience and led to a long term deal with Netflix. 

 

 

Holocaust Museum

All holocaust museums are having a serious issue of audience fatigue. This program needed to be rethought to engage previous patronage and new audiences by asking questions that had never been asked before, combined with global talent participation. The result was the farthest-reaching demographic & geographic viewership and the largest fundraising tally in its history.  

 

GSK | ViiV Healthcare Product Launch:  UK-US Hybrid Conference

A dual-country conference wrapped in a television talk show, creative format, co-producing/creative directing five layers of show in one. Duplicate stages and television crews for the UK and US on-site theatrical audience, individual location branding in duplicate audio, video, motion graphics, displays, and dual multi-camera directing for the opposite studio and interaction, and an online program for a virtual audience that resulted in a partnership with the World Health Organization.

 

 

Reality Dating Show

The network chose a comedian as a host who would kill it in the clubs but was not dynamic on camera. I found they were over-scripting her, locking her up as a performer. I secretly set up the kinds of bullet point questions or interactions that I knew would ignite her humor, and partnered with talent coaching . It gave the network tons of hilarious footage for post-production, resulting in a three-year contract.

 

 

Golden Globes – Crisis Management

Past director/writer and consulted in the initial changes to the Hollywood Foreign Press content and show format under the new, socially responsible leadership, which resulted in The Golden Globes reinstated broadcast agreement with NBC.

 

 

Live Events, Environment Experiences, Theatrical

I began creating/directing the Las Vegas-style concerts and stage spectaculars, now live events for Forbes, The Oscars, Thermo Fisher Scientific and interactive environments.

Project Example: To achieve budget and programming goals, pioneered the two-show, one-cast concept for resort casino properties. 7pm – Family Production Show, 9pm – Celebrity Headliner, 11pm – Adult Production Show.
